There are road club runs on Saturday and Sunday mornings and trail runs on Wednesday evenings and some weekends. There is also a monthly Time Trial on the first Tuesday of the month starting from Bootlegger in Durbanville.
Training Programs
We have training programs from a professional running coach available for members. Including the following :
0 – 5km (10-week program)
This is aimed at runners who are starting from scratch. If you’re new to the sport or if you’re coming back from injury, then this is a great way to get from the couch onto your feet and moving again.
5km – 10km base builder (12-week program)
This program is tailored for runners who can already run 5km and are looking to increase their distance to 10km.
10km – 21.1km base builder (15-week program)
This is for the more seasoned runners who are looking to push on from a 10km to a half marathon.
Secondly, specifically from a trail perspective, we’ve decided to target UTCT as a goal for CMC Trail Group. We’re sure you’re all aware, UTCT is no walk in the park, but what it does offer is a few distance options that will cater for many of our trail runners.
ASA Licences
The ASA licences for 2024 are not available as yet. Once they are we will communicate with members via all communication channels. You are welcome to add the fee of R180 to your membership payment. Please note that you must reside in the district of Cape Town to have a licence issued by Western Province.
Once it is available pease follow ALL the steps below in order to collect your licence. If you miss a step it may result in your licence not being able to be verified on the ASA system. If you have any problems with any of the steps please email me on info@capemultisportclub.com.
Ensure that all of your information is correct on the ASA website : https://asa.saclubs.co.za/login. If you don’t have a profile please create one. You must make sure that your club is Cape Multisport club (if you are still allocated to another club you must ask them to change your status to transfer and to select Cape Multisport, or contact WPA and ask them to update you). This is a very important step. If your profile is incorrect I will not be able to allocate your licence number to you on the system.
Make sure that you have completed your CMC membership form https://forms.gle/9Dk5TAaRXpRUJRvL6 and made the correct payment for 2023 membership (details on the form). The ASA licence fee is R 155 and is not included in your membership fee but is also payable to Cape Multisport. Please print off the proof of payment for both your membership fees and your ASA licence.
Please take your completed form and proof of payments to the RUN Store in Edward Street., Bellville. Please note that they can be busy and spend time with their customers to ensure that they get the correct shoes for them (one of the reasons we love the RUN Store). Please exercise patience if they are busy with a client, they will get to you as soon as they can. In the meantime, have a look at the merchandise that they have or pop next door for a coffee.
Go run run run and have fun proudly wearing your CMC shirt and new licence number. (You can also buy shirts from the RUN store paying by EFT or Snapscan).
