CMC Marathon Challenge(s)

The CMC Marathon Challenge(s) for 2022 is an opportunity for runners to run a qualifier for the Two Oceans Ultra. CMC will host an official, timed (via Strava) and seconded marathon club run – with the option to do one loop (half marathon) in support of the marathon runners. NOTE – Only the full marathon will count as a Two Oceans Ultra qualifier though!
Follow 3 easy steps to register:
using the buttons below

1) Create a profile on this site (so we know who your are)
2) Connect your Strava Account (so we can get your timing)
3) Register for the Challenge (so we know which event you want to do)

Your runs are automatically timed using Strava – but you must remember to connect your account! Please don’t remove any permissions when you link your Strava – this may lead to problems recording your results.
You can complete the designated segment any time on Saturday 12 March, but CMC will host an official run starting at 06:00 the morning.
Entry is open to ALL runners, but limited to 100 entries!

The Rules

Anyone can enter  – regardless of team, club affiliation or fitness level.
The route consists of a Strava segment to be completed on the specific date – just run it and check the result on the leaderboard. Simple!

BUT – Please note that for your time to count you must follow the route as set out in the Strava sections. Please ensure that you know the route as there will not be marshalls everywhere to give directions on the run. Please consider this a self-navigated run. CMC and Durbac will provide some assistance on a best-effort basis, but we expect runners to take reposibility for knowing the route. We will not be liable for anyone not getting their time due to deviation on the route.

Results will be available on the website as activities are uploaded to Strava.

There will be 5 water stops on the route and one at Bootleggers for those running 2 loops.

Please be safe on the route as there will be no traffic marshalls.

Spirit of the runs

This is a friendly challenge and we expect runners to participate in the spirit of fairness and honesty. No outside assistance. If you need to wonder if it’s allowed, it’s probably not. If there are any questions, please reach out to the organizers – their decision will be final.

Safety

This cannot be stressed enough. BE SAFE. No event or challenge is worth getting injured over. Obey the rules of the road. Consider traffic and other road users. Be sensible out there.
